以紅寶石為例,鉻元素使紅寶石呈現靚麗的紅色,鐵元素則會使紅寶石的顏色變暗。而紅寶石紫外螢光的強弱主要與鐵鉻的比值(Fe/Cr)有關。鉻可導致螢光,而鐵對紫外螢光有抑製作用。所以如果你在市場上看到一顆高品質顏色靚的紅寶石,它都可能會有非常強烈的紅色螢光,這使得它在陽光下特別艷麗,展現出極具生命力的火紅。因為螢光增加了其顏色的美觀度,它的價值也自然更高了。

強螢光的紅寶石價值一定高嗎?

強螢光=高價值?

一顆寶石是否優質漂亮,是挑選寶石的第一位。強螢光一定程度上會幫助紅寶石提升它的價值,但並沒有絕對性。一顆紅寶石如果它含有強螢光為鴿血紅且顏色正紅,它的價值並不會低;但如果紅寶石的顏色為玫紅色即使它含有強螢光它的價值也會大打折扣,畢竟紅寶石的顏色才是它的生命,在購買紅寶石的時候不要過於執著強螢光效應,應該綜合考慮其顏色,淨度,大小等。將重點放在紅寶石的品質上。

緬甸紅寶石一般比較多內含物,帶絲絨感,鉻含量比較高的關係,螢光感較強。而莫桑比克紅寶石普遍晶體比較乾淨,但鐵含量比較高,顏色會比較暗沉。但不同產地的紅寶石,也有高低品質之分,不能單單以產地去分辦寶石的品質。

除了紅寶石,來自緬甸納米亜-曼辛的粉-紅尖晶石也有強烈的螢光,螢光掩蓋了寶石的暗域,大大增加的顏色的飽和度。此外還有藍寶石、祖母綠、托帕石、變石、磷灰石、鋯石、賽黃晶、螢石、月光石等⋯.

Does a strongly fluorescent ruby necessarily have high value?

Whether a gemstone is high quality and beautiful is the first priority when choosing a gemstone. Strong fluorescence will, to a certain extent, help increase a ruby's value, but it is not absolute. If a ruby has strong fluorescence, is pigeon's blood red, and has a pure red color, its value will not be low; but if the ruby's color is rose red, even if it has strong fluorescence, its value will be greatly reduced. After all, a ruby's color is its life. When buying a ruby, do not be overly fixated on the strong fluorescence effect. You should comprehensively consider its color, clarity, size, etc. Focus on the ruby's quality.

Burmese rubies generally have more inclusions and a velvety feel, and because of their relatively high chromium content, their fluorescence is stronger. Mozambican rubies generally have relatively clean crystals, but because of their relatively high iron content, their color is relatively dark and dull. However, rubies from different origins also differ in high and low quality, and the quality of a gemstone cannot be judged by origin alone.

In addition to ruby, pink-red spinel from Namya-Mansin in Myanmar also has strong fluorescence. The fluorescence masks the gemstone's dark areas and greatly increases the color's saturation.
